The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) will take all steps to collect unpaid self-assessment taxes from taxpayers following the relevant legal procedure, the Department said today.
The process will start tomorrow to collect the due payments by visiting the identified businesses.
The Department has collected Rs.1417 billion in taxes as at September 30 which exceeds 70% of the revenue target of Rs. 2024 billion this year.
However, it was found out that there are still taxpayers who have to pay under self-assessment (SA payment) and the IRD will start tomorrow to collect those payments from the relevant businesses.
