Movement restrictions throughout the country were imposed from 11.00pm last night. The restrictions are to continue until May 28, with a brief respite from 4.00am to 11.00pm on May 25 (Tuesday).
With the restrictions coming into force, most towns in the country were deserted this morning. Only essential service vehicles and personnel are allowed to be on the road during the period of movement restrictions.
Police and security forces personnel were out in force today manning roadblocks, stopping motorists who were traveling and checking whether they had valid permits to travel.
