In Pictures: COVID vaccination begins in the North
The process of administering the Oxford AstraZeneca COVISHIELD vaccine among frontline health workers and security forces personnel in the Northern Province commenced today.
The vaccine was administered to security forces personnel at five locations in the province, namely, Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni, 54th Division Mannar, Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi, Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna and Security Forces Headquarters - Mullaitivu.
The vaccine was also administered at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, with Northern Province Director of Health Services Dr A. Ketheeswaran and Jaffna Teaching Hospital Director T. Sathyamoorthi receiving the vaccine along with other health sector staff.
