Two special cargo flights arrived today (4) at Bandaranaike International airport to deliver Nano Nitrogen liquid fertiliser which was purchased from India.
The stock weighing 89,503 kg arrived on board two C-17 cargo planes of the Indian Air Force.
According to Airport Sources flight IFC - 8D 21 arrived at the airport around 12.06 am with a storage of 44,730 kg of fertilizer while the second flight IFC – 8 E 21 which arrived around 3.02 am, carried 44,773 kg of the same liquid fertiliser.
Airport sources said they have made arrangements to transport the stock of fertiliser via lorries to the Agriculture Ministry's central fertiliser storage area.
