Crowds were seen at Nagalangam Street in Grandpass walking about shopping for their daily needs despite the quarantine curfew imposed till next Monday (13).
Shopkeepers were selling items, mainly dry rations in partially opened shops and inside closed shops.
Police said since October last year 67,342 persons have been arrested for violating quarantine laws and health regulations and 674 were arrested during the past 24 hours.
