Two hundred and fifty Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) workers were given the COVID-19 vaccine this morning (16) at the Campbell Park, Borella. Another set of workers were to be vaccinated in the afternoon today. The vaccination was predominantly given to CMC front-line staff, health authorities said.
Additionally, 500 prison officials at Welikada Prisons were given the jab today. Accordingly all 5100 prison officials in the country will be vaccinated in the next few days. The programme is carried out in other prisons around Colombo as well today, health sources said.
