Kumuthini also Kumudini, a popular passenger ferry among Northern islands, had its first journey after a complete renovation by the Road Development Authority.
The ferry that can carry 85 passengers and, 4000 kg of weight will be in operation for the public soon, RDA said.
Due to maintenance issues, the ferry was not in operation for months, causing inconvenience to those residing in the islets.
The renovation was done by the RDA with the support from interior decor experts. Service will commence from Kurikadduwan jetty to Delft.
