Indian two-way Bailey bridge components, five dinghy boats, five medical staff and 20 engineers landed in Sri Lanka to support the ongoing disaster relief operations.
The modular units of 110-foot Bailey bridges can be configured as a single long-span structure or multiple shorter bridges, which is intended to restore road connectivity in areas where bridges and access routes have been severely damaged.
According to the Presidents Media Division, 25 Indian personnel will work alongside Sri Lankan engineers and emergency responders to expedite construction.
