An Indonesian company has been awarded the contract for the supply of coal required for the Norochcholai power plant, Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara said.
The Minister told a news conference that the Attorney General has given clearance for the awarding of the tender and accordingly was awarded today.
Arista Mitra working in collaboration of Concept Global has agreed to provide 720,000 Mt of coal commencing from February onwards.
Meanwhile from the previously ordered stocks three more shipments are due on January 5,9 and 20 to get all three units operational.
