Certain parts of the Jaffna midtown areas will be closed until further notice to prevent spread of COVID-19 after 79 persons tested positive for the virus today, a senior official from Jaffna District Secretariat said.
A special meeting with the participation of all stakeholders including regional health authorities was held this evening to take urgent steps to prevent spread of the virus in the region and ensure public safety.
