Senior parliamentarian John Seneviratne said he will remain as an independent opposition MP in Parliament.
Delivering a special statement in Parliament a short while ago, the MP refused claims that he had held discussions with Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa in order to join the SJB.
“I have not expressed any interest in joining another party or political affiliations. While remaining independent I will support good moves by the government and oppose if necessary,” said the former Sri Lanka Freedom Party MP.
Earlier parliamentarian Dr. Sudarshinie Fernandopulle also denied joining the SJB coalition.
