The Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Science and Technology will work together on the National Research Agenda related to environmental issues.
These will revolve around the incorporation of critical research fields such as climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies, natural resource conservation, biodiversity, and pollution.
A special discussion on the issue was organized yesterday, January 06.
In the course of the dialogue, representatives from the Ministry of Environment drew attention to the fact that there is a great gap in locally based research, especially research studies that associate the impacts of climate change with the protection of ecosystems and the use of natural resources in a sustainable manner.
The objective of coming up with these initiatives together is the promotion of interdisciplinary research, enhancement of data-driven policy-making, and facilitation of effective intervention and program development.
