The Human Rights Commission has issued summons for the second time on the acting OIC of the Kalpitiya Police station Sri Lal Edirisinghe over an investigation against him.
He has been ordered toe appear at the HRC office in Colombo on November 29.
He was ordered to appear before the Commission on October 25, but had substituted himself with a junior officer.
The officer has been ordered to appear over a alleged human rights violation based on a complaint filed by a resident in Kalpitiya, Myura Rodrigo.
Mr Rodrigo has claimed that his wife and sister were assaulted by the officer when they called over at the Police station and falsely accused of possessing drugs.
