Former Speaker Deshabandu Karu Jaysuriya is to be conferred with the highest national award -SriLankabimannaya, the Cabinet has decided.
The event will take place on February 3.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
