The Keerimalai, sacred tank in Jaffna has been closed for pilgrims and tourists due to COVID-19 threat and repair work.
The decision was taken by the health authorities, Valikamam North Pradeshiya Saba Chairman said.
Keerimalai is used by Hindus to perform the last rights of their departed relatives and at present only three persons will be allowed in the sacred area for this purpose
