Kotahena shooting: Six including alleged gunman in custody

Six suspect have now been arrested over the fatal shooting Kotahena on November 7. Police Media Unit said the arrested suspects are four males and two females. One male suspect has been identified as the shooter who carried out the killing while the other three male and two female suspects were arrested on charges of aiding and abetting the crime. 

The Colombo Range Crime Investigation Division, which is probing the murder, arrested three suspects - two males and a female, allegedly involved in the shooting while traveling on the A9 Road in a car at Chemmani Junction in Jaffna on November 9. A mobile phone was also taken into custody along with the suspects. Police have identified one male suspect who was arrested as the shooter involved while the other male and the female suspect were arrested for aiding and abetting the crime. 

A further two male suspects and a female were arrested yesterday (10) from the Grandpass and Wellampitiya areas. These three suspects were arrested on charges of providing accomodation and transport to the shooter. A three-wheeler and two mobile phones 

The arrested male suspect are aged between 18 to 33 years and are residents of Grandpass and Colombo 13. The two female suspects are aged 24 and 26 years and are residents of Colombo 13 and and Wellampitiya. 

The Colombo Range Crime Investigation Division is conducting further investigations.
