A group of Sri Lankan Police officers obtained the opportunity to complete a special beginner course in the Russian Language at the Russian Language School of the Russian House in Colombo for the first time in history.
The awarding of certificates took place on the 7th of October at the Russian House in Colombo, The event was graced by Anastasia Khokhlova and Maria Popova, incoming First Secretary of the Russian Embassy and Director of the Russian House in Colombo along with Mr. Buddhapriya Ramanayake, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian House in Colombo and many other officials including some from the Police department.
This course is an added advantage and qualification to the Police Department and would benefit the policemen in a number of ways like being able to communicate with Russian tourists when in need as many Russian tourists visited the country after so many internal issues, more tourists are expected in the country in the next few months with Aeroflot resuming flights.
