A Sri Lankan youth who attempted to use a forged Schengen visa to illegally enter into Italy has been detained today by the immigration and emigration department officials at the departure terminal.
The officials were suspicious as of the youth when he submitted his documentation to the Sri Lankan airlines counter. Thereafter the suspicious youth was handed over to the immigration officials.
Further technical inspections have revealed that the Polish residence visa was forged. The youth too have also explained that he forged the visa via a broker by paying him Rs 4 million rupees for it.
The immigration officials also have detected another passport with two other immigration and emigration stamps, Sri Lankan immigration stamp and a forged airline ticket of gulf airlines. Following that the suspicious youth was handed over to the Crime Investigation Division officers at the Katunayake airport police.
