Levy on dates reduced from Rs. 200 to Rs.1 per kg
The Special Commodity Levy imposed on dates has been reduced from Rs. 200 to Rs.1 per kg.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe has issued an order to provide the above relief in view of the upcoming Ramadan festival.
However, the waiver only applies to dates received as a gift or donation from foreign governments, organizations, business entities, volunteer associations and well-wishers.
