Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has asked the government if there are plans to issue new liquor sale permits to 200 applicants.
Mr Premadasa said Rs twenty million is being secured illegally to issue these licenses.
"Is this to raise funds for elections," Mr Premadasa questioned in Parliament today.
State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe said if a formal question is raised he could provide a response.
