About 30 houses in the Akuressa Paraduwa, Iddadodahena village have lost electricity as power poles have collapsed due to landslides, said the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
Although new poles cannot be installed as holes cannot be dug due to the flood, residents were seen assisting the CEB in re-installing the collapsed poles.
Depot Manager Thilan Ruchira said that a makeshift method of re-installing the poles with the aid of bamboo poles was followed.
