Persons dressed in uniforms similar to those of Army attire have abducted and beaten up a resident of Norochcholai and left him on the beach side today (30) morning, Police said.
The victim’s wife claimed that four persons dressed in army-type uniform and a civilian had arrived at their home in the morning and claimed they wanted to take husband for questioning after he sent SMS messages of the wife of an army officer.
Her husband, Raja Shri kanthan, 38 was later found with injuries on the beach in Illanthady and admitted to the hospital.
Meanwhile police have traced the van which is believed to have been used for the abduction.
The van had run off the road and was found abandoned. Two army type uniforms and a pair of boots were found along with a National Identity Card with the name Pulande Jeshusheran of Furgeson Road, Colombo 14.
Investigations are being conducted by the Norochcholai police.
