Man arrested for sexually assaulting women
A man who broke into houses and sexually assaulted women has been arrested in Kalpitiya, Poice said.
The suspect Mahesh Duminda Silva Abeygunawardena also known as “Mathloli Podda” had broken into houses at night in Payagala area.
The suspect has been identified as a 40 year old resident from Veragala, Payagala area and was apprehended when he was hiding at his relative's house in Kurakkanhena, according to the information received by the police.
Police said that the suspect was to be handed over to the Payagala Police, after questioning the residents who were harboring the suspect.
