A man who claimed to be issuing visas to India throgh a fake website has been arrested by the Colombo Crime Division, Police said today (March 30).
A 29 year old in Panwila had created a fake website including the name and details of the Colombo Indian Visa Centre and had obtained money for providing visas.
The suspect was arrested by the Colombo Crime Division in the evening of March 28 in Wattegama while in possession of a laptop and mobile phone.
The suspect was produced to court on the charges of fraud and violation of intellectual property to the Colombo Magistrate Court yesterday and was remanded until April 7.
