Ja-Ela Police have launched investigations to arrest a suspect who allegedly murdered an individual during a fight at a hotel last night (4).
Police said the attack occurred during a party held at a hotel in Ja-Ela when the suspect and the victim got involved in an exchange of words that escalated into a fight. The suspect is alleged to have then assaulted the victim and pushed him into the hotel's swimming pool.
The victim has been identified as a 34-year-old resident of Thumpeliya, Ja-Ela. His remains are lying at the morgue of the Negombo Hospital. The suspect has fled the area and investigations are ongoing to arrest him.
