Police have launched investigations to arrest two gunmen who shot and killed a shopkeeper inside his shop in front of the Ratmalana Railway Station last night.
Police Media Unit said the unidentified assailants had used a pistol to commit the murder.
The victim succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital. He has been identified as a 40-year-old resident of Araliya Uyana, Ratmalana.
A motive for the killing has not been established and Mt. Lavinia Police are conducting further investigations.
