A Member of Parliament from the Nuwara Eliya distirct has been found to be COVID-19 positive, Parliament was told today.
This was after SJB member Hector Appuhamy told Parliament that there were reports about an MP being infected with COVID-19 and if that was the case Parliament sittings should be suspended.
The member presiding, Weerasumana Dissanayake first said there were no reports, but few minutes later confirmed that Nuwara Eliya district member M. Rameshwaram was infected.
