The Meteorology Department forecasts that several spells of showers can be expected in the Uva province and the districts of Ampara, Batticaloa, and Hambantota, today.
The Department said showers or thundershowers are expected to prevail at several places in the Sabaragamuwa province, as well as the districts of Galle, Matara, and Kalutara after 2:00 p.m. There could be fairly heavy falls above 50mm at some places.
Few showers could occur in Northern Province and Matale, Nuwara-Eliya, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomale.
Fairly strong winds with a speed of 40 kmph may occur at some places in the Easter slopes of the central hills. North and north -western provinces,and in Anuradhapura, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
