Heavy rainfall is forecasted across the country due to a low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of the country.
The Meteorology Department said showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island during the afternoon or night.
Heavy showers above 100mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western, Uva and Northern provinces and fairly heavy showers above 50mm can be expected elsewhere.
Public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
