The Principal of the primary school in Millaniya and two police officers who were arrested on child cruelty charges were released on bail today(16).
The trio were released on two personal bails of one million rupees when they were produced before Colombo Magistrate Court.
The female Principal was suspended and the Officer in Charge of Millaniya police has been transferred following the incident.
Several 10 year old students were beaten with some being given electric shock treatment by police officers after money inside a teacher’s wallet went missing during school hours.
