The minimum bus fare (both SLTB and private buses) has been increased from Rs. 14 to Rs.17.
The decision to increase bus fares was taken following a meeting between the National Transport Commission, private bus owners unions and State Minister of Transport Dilum Amunugama.
The increase will come into effect from January 5 next year. Other categories of fare for both SLTB and private buses will be increased by 17 percent.
