A nurse attached to the Anamaduwa Primary Hospital was injured when a monk threw a glass plate on to her after claiming that it was painful while she was taking a sample for a PCR test.
The nurse sustained head injuries and was rushed to the Kurnunegala Teaching Hospital for a surgery, according to Dr Padmini Abeyratne at the Anamaduwa hospital.
The monk has been arrested for questioning by the Police.
