Several places over multiple provinces of the island will experience showers or thundershowers after 2:00 pm today (November 2) according to the Department of Meteorology.
Moderately heavy rainfall above 75mm is due at a few places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces along with Galle and Matara Districts.
Showers are most likely in Eastern province also in Hambantota and Jaffna Districts during the morning hours.
Certain areas in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva Provinces will meet misty conditions around this morning.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers are on the cards at several places in the sea areas off shores extending from Hambantota to Trincomalee via Pottuvil.
In addition, several places in the sea areas around the island will witness showers or thundershowers particularly during the day or night.
Winds will be North-easterly or inconstant in direction and will strike at 20-25 KMPH.
Moreover, the marine areas surrounding the island are expected to tone down although strong gusts of wind and turbulent waters are foreseen during thunderstorms transiently.
