The police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the eight people who are suspected to have been directly involved in the murder of former MP Amarakeerthi Athukorala and his security guard on May 9.
The police have provided the media with several images of the suspects and are requesting the public to provide any information on the matter by calling 011 251 4217 or 071 859 2868.
According to the Police, 35 individuals have been detained thus far in connection with the murder.
On May 9, amid widespread turmoil, a mob attack killed the MP and a police sergeant who was an officer of his personal security.
