Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) decided to nominate Namal Rajapaksa as MP through the party's National List, party General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam announced today.
Mr Rajapaksa did not contest this week's polls and the party secured only three elected seats.
A former secretary to the Ministry of Trade , former additional secretary and chief finance official have been arrested over corruption charges , the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption said.
