As the government stumbles from crisis to crisis, the administration is also considering changes in the officials’ holding high posts.

Tipped to be appointed as Central Bank Governor is Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, a former Senior Deputy Governor of the bank. One other proposal by the President is to appoint business magnet Dhammika Perera as the Treasury Secretary although incumbent S.R. Attygalle has not stepped down, official sources said.
