All national parks that were closed due to adverse weather, except for the Wasgamuwa National Park will be reopened for visitors from today (03).
Accordingly, from today onwards the Wilpattu National Park (Hunuwilagama entrance), Yala National Park – Block I (Palatupana entrance), Minneriya National Park and Kaudulla National Park will be opened to the visitors. However, as some internal roads within these parks are still underwater only sections suited for vehicular movement will be opened to visitors.
The following tourist bungalows will also be reopened from today.: Kumana National Park, Thummulla and Kirigalbe bungalows, Horton Plains National Park, Ginirihiriya and Maha Eliya bungalows, Wilpattu National Park, Maradanmaduwa wildlife bungalow, Minneriya National Park -Rambewila tourist bungalow, Yala National Park (Block I), Heenwewa, Ondachchi, Old Butawa, New Butawa and Maha Silawa bungalows,
