Navy arrests man with over 1900kg of Kendu leaves

The Navy apprehended a man with 1947kg of smuggled Kendu leaves in the Puttalam area, Navy said today.

In a search operation conducted by the Navy in the Karative beach area in Puttalam, the suspect who had smuggled 65 packages of Kendu leaves was nabbed.

The suspect was identified as a resident of Karative,Puttalam aged 50 and was handed over to the Kalpitiya Police for further legal action.
