Navy arrested a person who was returning to Mannar area by a small boat via sea routes, after having flown to India by air. Along with the suspect, another four suspects involved in the act of smuggling were also taken into naval custody on Tuesday, the Navy said.
The person returning from India by illegal means is a resident of Jaffna and the two smugglers aboard as well as the other two individuals involved in this illegal act were identified as residents of Mannar.
All of these individuals were directed to quarantine through the Public Health Inspectors of the area, upon their apprehension.
