Two wards in Nawagamuwa Divisional Hospital, Kaduwela have been allocated for COVID infected Ordinary Level examination students in Colombo district, said Colombo District Secretary Pradeep Yasaratne.
Mr. Yasaratne told Times Online that as many families in the district are presently under quarantine due to COVID infected family members, there is a possibility of detecting COVID cases among students sitting for the examination.
“There will be a male and female ward equipped with facilities to be able to sit for the examination despite being infected with the virus. Arrangements are being finalized with the Examination Department and hospital authorities to ensure the safety of invigilators as well,” he said.
The 2020 O/L examination that was to be held in December last year was postponed due to COVID second wave and will commence tomorrow (01) and continue till March 10.
