Nearly 300,000 vehicles made use of the expressways in two days ahead of the new year leading to a collection of revenue of more than Rs 100 million.
Director of Expressway Operation Maintenance and Management Division, R.A.D. Kahatapitiya said during the two days April 11 and 12 the total income generated from the expressways was Rs 102.3 million.
The highest number of motorist used the expressway on April 11 where over 163,000 made use of the expressway while on April 12 nearly 135,000 used the expressways.
On April 11 an income of Rs 54 million was generated while on April 12 Rs 47 million had been collected as revenue.
