The Cabinet has decided to accept a proposal introducing arrangements to dispose and manage court production through a Parliament Act.
The proposal was presented by the Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms, Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, since the legal provisions had caused further custody of court production required to be disposed of.
This has led to court production to deteriorate to an extent of having no advantage, causing further issues.
Therefore, a committee has been appointed to recommend a legal framework and legal policy including management and disposal of court production before the court case ends.
The Cabinet proposal requesting to prepare a draft bill for a bill upon the recommendations of this committee regarding the matter, has been accepted by the Cabinet.
