Retired Major General Sarada Samarakoon, Gamini Rasaputra, Mahesh Meegaswatte, Kushan Wegodopola and K.T Karunaratne were been appointed as new Board of Directors to the Lanka Sugar Company (Pvt) Limited by the State Ministry of Investment Promotion today.
Mr. Sarada Samarakoon, who previously served as the Chairman was reappointed as Chairman while Mr. Gamini Rasaputra, who served as the Chief Executive Officer was appointed as Director. He was re-appointed as the chief executive officer and a member of the Board.
Minister of State for Investment Promotion Dilum Amunugama handed over the letter of appointment to retired Major General Sarada Samarakoon as the Chairman of Lanka Sugar Company (Pvt) Limited.

The Government today tabled in the House the Report of the Commission to Inquiry into the Establishment and Maintenance of Unlawful Places of Detention and Torture Chambers in the Batalanda Housing Scheme.
