New members have been appointed to the Health Service Committee and Education Service Committee, the Secretary of Public Service Commission has announced.
The apppointments made for a two year period has been effective from October 2.
The new members appointed to the Health Service Committee: Mrs. T.M.L.C. Senarathna - Chairperson, Dr. Ananda Hapugoda and Mr. Nimal Saranathissa.
The appointment, confirmation, and promotion of Medical Officers, Dental Officers, and Ayurvedic Medical Officers to preliminary grade are among the responsibilities and functions of the Health Service Committee.
They are also in charge of the annual transfers, special appeals on transfers, concessions for Efficiency Bar Examinations, and observations and suggestions on transfer appeals that are given to the Public Service Commission.
Members for the Education Service Committee are as follows: J.A. Ranjith - Chairman, Mrs. M.N.K. Weerasekara and Mrs. W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara.
In addition to its other responsibilities, the Education Service Committee is in charge of enrollment in line with approved recruitment minutes and schemes, confirming employment, terminating employment, returning to the previous position, appointment based on acting or attending to duties, accepting resignations from the service, reviewing appeals against notices of vacation from post, retirement (aside from regular retirement), and hiring back former Public Officials on a contract basis.
