The Election Commission (EC) has issued a gazette notification confirming that Ushettige Don Nishantha Jayaweera has been nominated as an MP from the National People's Power (NPP) to the Tenth Parliament of Sri Lanka.
He will fill the vacancy created by the recent resignation of Harshana Suriyapperuma, who resigned to take over as Treasury Secretary.
Mr. Jayaweera's name had been forwarded to the EC by the NPP's Secretary.
