A fisherman from Vettrilikeni, Jaffna died this afternoon after he was struck by lightning coupled with heavy rains in the coastal area.
The victim was identified as 34 year old S. Umesh from Vettrilaikeni. The victim was the only survivor in the family as he lost his parents and siblings during the war.
Meanwhile another fisherman was admitted to Maruthankerny hospital with injuries.
