The traditional oil anointing ceremony in lieu with the Sinhala and Tamil New Year was held throughout the country at the auspicious time of 9.41 a.m. today (April 16).

Pictures show the oil anointing ceremony that was held at the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple.
