One person was killed and another injured due to a shooting that took place at Meegahawatta in Mulleriyawa this morning.
Police Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nihal Thalduwa said that the deceased was a 42-year-old male while another 45-year-old male suffered gunshot injuries and was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for treatment.
The shooting had been carried out by two suspects on a motorbike.
Investigations are ongoing to identify the suspects and the motive behind the shooting, the police spokesman added.
