One killed as car falls of precipice in Riverstone
A woman was killed and three others were injured when a car fell off a precipice in the Riverstone area in the Matale district, Police said today.
The woman who was driving the car had been killed instantly.
The accident had taken place around 5.30 p.m. under heavy misty and windy conditions.
They had been returning after visiting the Riverstone area.
They were residents of Matale.
Earlier this week a protest was held in the area about the road conditions with the residents complaining that the road has not been repaired for several years.
