The number of persons vaccinated for COVID19 has passed the 11 million mark, by yesterday.
According to the latest statistics, nine million of them were those who have received the Sinopharm vaccine followed by one million who have received the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The total who have received the second vaccine is 11,095, 465 and accordingly over 50 per cent of those eligible for the vaccine have now received both doses.
Meanwhile, 73,000 more US-manufactured Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today morning.
State Minister Prof Channa Jayasumana said similar stocks are due in the next few weeks.
